How a simple piece of metal becomes a beautiful trinket......

As soon as the piece of silver metal leaves the suppliers it has begun its journey to become a beautiful trinket.  As it hits my doormat I have already made plans for its journey, be it to become a bangle, bracelet, pendant, earrings or ring.  The usual starting point for any piece following the design is sawing, this is then closely followed by a mixture of hammering, filing, sanding, soldering and finally a good polish in my tumbling machine.  This last phase is when you get to see the final results of the metal makeover.

Of course the journey does not end there, once a trinket is brought from me it goes off into the world on a different journey all of its own.  I don't always get to know where my trinkets have ended up, my one hope is that it is bringing the lucky receipient as much joy and pleasure as I had creating it.
